All our used stock is checked and tested before sale so you can buy with confidence. When purchasing any second hand boat it’s always good to check a few things over first, here’s a basic list as a guide.

Outboard

Check service and maintenance history

Check sacrificial anode for damage

Check propeller for wear and tear

Check prop shaft for straightness (spin prop in neutral)

Inspect fuel line and fuel filter

Check for oil leaks

Check battery and terminal where fitted

Check motor tilt and bracket

Check bolts and attachment point to transom

Start the motor, check gear shift

Trailer

Check wheels and axles

Check suspension

Check winch, cable and hook

Check safety chain and coupling

Check lights and plug

Check brakes where fitted

Check rollers and skids for excessive wear

Visually inspect frame for excessive corrosion

Vessel

Check steering system

Check hull, bilge and transom for damage

Check floor

Check all electrical systems including nav lights, navigation systems and wiring loom

Check windscreen where fitted

Check bungs and skin fittings

Check Bimini for UV damage

FOR INFLATABLE BOATS YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO -

Check fabric for discoloration and UV damage

Check fabric for delamination

Look for excessive or large repairs

Check valves for airtightness

Check all air holding and water seams

Check inflation pump and attachment to vales

Check fittings for strength

Look at the age of the boat, some boats last for 4 -5 years

Look for a brand name you’ve heard of. If you don’t know it don’t buy it!
